Badrinath is a famous holy place in the palm of nature and situated between the Nar-Narayan Mountains in Uttarakhand. It is famous as it is one of the Char Dham places in India. When will the Badrinath holy gate open in 2021?

In 2021, the holy gates of Badrinath will be reopened on May 18, 2021, after a winter break and in October, the door will be closed due to heavy snowfall.

What is the story of Badrinath Dham?

According to mythological folk tales, Badrinath and the entire area around it were at one time located as Shiva Bhoomi (Kedarkhand). When the river Ganges descended on the earth, it was divided into twelve streams, and the stream flowing through this place became known as Alaknanda. It is believed that when Lord Vishnu was looking for a suitable place for his meditation, he found this place very close to Alaknanda. Lord Vishnu incarnated in the form of Baal near Neelkanth mountain and began to cry. Hearing his cry, Mother Parvati's heart was moved, and she tried to persuade him by appearing near the child, and the child asked for that place to meditate with him. This holy place is presently known as Badrivishal.

In Badrinath, we worship Lord Vishnu. But before worshiping we have to take bath in Tapt Kund built near Badrinath Dham. Tapt kund is a hot water reservoir. Now we have to go to the queue to say your prayer to Lord Vishnu but let me tell you. No mobile phone and camera are allowed in the temple.

After exit from temple, there is one more place which is Brahmkapal. One can perform the ancestor's pind dan ritual at Brahmkapal.

When to visit Badrinath?

During May - June, you will see too much crowd due to summer vacation and during this time, you can see a hike in the fare of hotels and other accommodation. You will also face problems in getting available seats in the bus.

But during, September and October, you will see no crowd, and the hotel prices will come to the normal price and within 1 hour you can reach inside the temple due to less crowd.

Always avoid traveling during monsoon, because you can face landslides on roads and due to landslides, you will be stuck in a long traffic jam.
