 India has a very broad history and its monuments are very famous in the world. More than 1000 forts and 2 million temples were built in India and among them, UNESCO declared 38 monuments as world heritage sites which includes 30 cultural sites, 7 natural properties, and 1 mixed site.



31. Rani ki vav

Rani ki Vav or Ranki Vav is a step well in the city of Patan in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is situated on the banks of river Saraswati. It is famous for its shape and sculpture. The Rani ki Vav is 64 meters (210 ft) long, 20 meters (66 ft) wide and 27 meters (89 ft) deep and contains more than 500 statues of God. Most of the idols are in devotion to Vishnu, as the ten-incarnations Kalki, Rama, Mahishasuramardini, Narasimha, Vamana, Varahi and others who represent his return to the world. Naga Kanya, Yogini Beautiful Women - Apsara showcased 16 different styles of makeup to create a more attractive look called Solah shringar. UNESCO declared it a world heritage site in 2014 and it was built in the 11th century AD. 


32. Great Himalayan National Park

The Great Himalayan National Park is one of India's national parks and it is located in the Kullu region in the state of Himachal Pradesh. In 1984, the park was established and is spread over an area of 1171 km² at an altitude of between 1500 and 6000 m. In the year 2014, UNESCO declared it a world heritage site.


33. Archaeological Site of Nalanda Mahavihara at Nalanda, Bihar

Nalanda University is one of the first and oldest universities in the world and it was founded in the 5th century BC. Buddha went there during his lifetime. The Chinese scholar Xuanzang visited there and he wrote in his book that at that time there were more than 10,000 students and 2000 teachers. UNESCO declared it a world heritage site in 2016. 


34. Khangchendzonga(Kangchenjunga) National Park

Khangchendzonga National Park is also known as Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve and it is a national park and a biosphere reserve situated in Sikkim, India. It was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in July 2016 and becoming India's first "Mixed Heritage" site. It was included in the UNESCO Man and Biosphere Program.


35. The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier

The Chandigarh Capital Complex is located in Sector-1 of the city of Chandigarh in India. It is a government complex designed by architect Le Corbusier and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed in the year 2016. It is spread over an area of ​​about 100 acres and is a major manifestation of the architecture of Chandigarh. It consists of three buildings: the Assembly or Palace of Legislative Assembly, the High Court, and the Secretariat Building besides four monuments (Open Hand Museum, Geometric Hill, Martyr's Monument, and Tower of Shadows) and a lake. 


36. Historic City of Ahmedabad

The Historic City of Ahmadabad or we can say Old Ahmedabad is the walled city of Ahmedabad in India and it was founded by Ahmad Shah I of Gujarat Sultanate in 1411. It remained the capital of the Gujarat Sultanate and later an important commercial and political centre of Gujarat. UNESCO listed this city as a world heritage site in the year 2017.

37. The Victorian and Art Deco Ensemble of Mumbai

This is a collection of Art Deco buildings and Victorian Gothic buildings. They are the Bombay High Court, Eros Cinema and Convocation Hall, Rajabai Clock Tower, University of Mumbai, University Library, Mumbai. It was built in 1862 and UNESCO inscribed it as a world heritage site in the year 2018.


38. Jaipur

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state of India. It echoes the royal family that once ruled the region and it was founded in the year 1727, which is now called the Old City or "Pink City" for the trademark City of Color. At the center of its stately street grid (notable in India) is the imposing, colonized City Palace complex. Part of it is still a royal residence, with gardens, courtyards, and museums. In 2019, UNESCO inscribed Jaipur as a world heritage site.
